This attraction has been at the Wiesn since 1933 and is made up of two different fun events. The passenger initially will have to climb on to a conveyor belt to get to the top of the tower, but standing is not easy, the movement is deceptive, and there is no handrail … or better still, there is, but it is fixed and does not follow the movement of the belt that slides under your feet, and so those who try to hang on grind to a halt and slide to the ground, to the great amusement of all the spectators.
it is also fun to see the different “techniques” in attempting to remain balanced…for those who fail to accomplish it, the staff are obviously available to “ferry you” to the other side. At this point, you are ready for the toboggan, which is used to take you down the slide.
This slide, and even by its name, is inspired by the Indian peoples of Canada and the Inuit, who used it as a means of transport on the snow.
Today the bobsled is an Olympic discipline!
