PANORAMIC BIG WHEEL
The true symbol of the Luna Park and one of the symbols of the Oktoberfest! The panoramic big wheel is the best known attraction with its 50 cabins that take passengers up to 50 meters in height.
No fear of heights, the wheel gradually gives a glimpse of the whole of the Theresienwiese and Munich, and even the mountains on the clearest days.
A romantic ride, that has its roots from 1600 in Russia and also in Turkey. The panoramic big wheel as we know it made its début in 1893 in Chicago during the “World Fair” with a fixed steel structure 80 meters high. This was followed by the European versions in London (1894), Vienna (1897) and Paris (1898). Currently including these, the only panoramic big wheel still in operation is the Prater one in Vienna.
It would be a shame to come to the Oktoberfest and not take a turn on this nostalgic ride.
