Kettenkarussell – Der Star Flyer 48
Passengers, seated in bucket seats, revolve around a central column. The centrifugal force pulls them further and further outwards.
It gives a unique sensation of freedom and you merely need to look at your sides, or better still beneath your feet to realise what it means to remain suspended at a height of 55 meters. It is an exceptional experience, a breathtaking ride, suitable for the more courageous, for lovers of thrills and heights. Known as the Starflyer 48, in 2012 Alexander Goetzkes introduced the new version with 24 double places, for a total of 48 passengers. With an incredible speed of 80 km per hour, and at a centrifugal force, the chairs travel almost horizontally with respect to the ground, with a diameter of about 30 m. What a thrill!
The prototype of this attraction is at the Prater in Vienna.
During the ascent, and at the beginning of the turns, when the speed is still not excessive, it is possible to appreciate the incredible 360° view of the Wiesn.
