How to get to the Oktoberfest
The Oktoberfest is held at the Theresienwiese, near the centre of Munich, Bavaria, and is well serviced by the metropolitan underground.
The “Theresienwiese” station and the nearby “Schwanthalerhöhe” station are serviced by the U4 and U5 lines, while the U3 and U6 lines stop at the Poccistrasse and Goetheplatz stations.
Equally convenient to use is the S-Bahn suburban railway, whose S1 and S8 lines arrive at the “Hackerbrücke” station. During the Oktoberfest weekends, although less frequent than normal daytime hours, the U-Bahn lines remain in service up until 2.00 while the last train of the S1 line is at 2.10, and the last train from the S8 is at 2.40.
